Ruby Sparks

 I don’t usually like movies of this genre, but this got my attention because it is filmed by the same directors of Little Miss Sunshine and have Paul Dano in its cast, one of my favorite new actors. In this film the complicated relationship between creator/creature is taken to the extreme level. Romantic comedy with brains, Ruby Sparks get points for how the script (written by the actress who plays Ruby) turns a apparently silly premise into a funny study about the obsession to shape the other in a loving relationship.

Não curto muito filmes desse gênero, mas esse conseguiu me chamar a atenção por ser dirigido pelos responsáveis por Pequena Miss Sunshine e ter o Paul Dano, um dos novos atores que eu mais curto o trabalho. Nesse filme, a complicada relação entre criador/criatura é levada ao nível do absurdo. Comédia romântica com cérebro, ganha pontos pela forma como o roteiro (escrito pela própria atriz que interpreta a Ruby) pega uma premissa aparentemente boba e transforma num divertido estudo sobre a obsessão de moldar o outro em um relacionamento amoroso.
